Fire Torches Govt House Police Observatory
A minor fire incident oc
curred last Wednesday at the Police Observatory at the back gate of the Government House, Port Harcourt, at about 3pm. Preliminary findings indicate that the minor fire incident was caused by power surge which led to the malfunctioning of an air-conditioner attached to the post. A statement by the Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, said that the situation was immediately contained by fire fighters at the Government House, Port Harcourt. It added that nobody was injured by the incident, adding that government activities were going on unhindered. The statement further added that a detailed investigation into the cause of the minor fire incident has been ordered by the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike
