RSG Extends Allocations’ Revocation Deadline By 7 Days …Warns Debtors, Illegal Occupants
The Rivers State Commis
sioner for Housing, Barr Emma Okah, has said all allottees of Rivers State Government flats at Oromenike and Orije Housing Estates in Port Harcourt, who have not paid for their flats, will have more seven days grace to pay up or have their allocations revoked.
Okah said this Friday, in Port Harcourt following the expiration of the earlier 14-day ultimatum which expired on 2nd October, 2016.
“We have extended the grace period by seven days to accommodate public opinion but we regret that many of the original allottees seem to have lost interest in their allocations or they did not exist in the first place”, he said.
He warned those who were still interested in the houses to pay up within the stipulated timeframe or forfeit their allocations.
Okah also warned those illegally occupying flats that were not allocated to them to, for the last, take advantage of the seven-day window, and vacate their illegal residences, or face the full wrath of the law, saying the Governor Nyesom Wike-led government has the political will to take decisive action, when the need arises.
