RSG Seals Filling Station …For Selling Adulterated Petrol
The Rivers State
Government, has shut Empecon Petrol Station located around Rukpokwu axis in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state for dispensing a mixture of petrol and water to the public.
The Head, Department of Petroleum in the Rivers State Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Temple Amakiri, said the sealing of the filling station followed complaints of sharp practices from motorists.
He said the manager of the filling station has been arrested by the police for interrogation as the petrol station remains sealed.
Amakiri said the ministry was currently conducting root-cause analysis on samples of products collected from the filling station.
He also added that the ministry would alert the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) on the matter for further action against the filling station.
He appealed to owners of vehicles and generators who are affected by the product they bought from the filling station not to take laws into their hands as the Rivers State Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources will ensure that justice is done in the matter.
