ICT Firm Tasks Stakeholders On Online Threats
A Cyber Security Firm,
Numeric Technologies, has urged banks and other financial organisations to adopt the modern approach to secure their online businesses.
The firm’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Innocent Nwume, made the appeal during a workshop tagged: “Modern Approaches to Firewall Breaches’’ organised for information technology stakeholders.
Nwume said that it was necessary for institutions and businesses to protect and manage their securities along with the speed of their businesses.
He said that the pace of security threats coupled with the constant demand for connectivity had surpassed the organisations’ ability to address them effectively.
“Every organisation must see it as a responsibility to protect their domain from both internal and external online attackers.
“If an organisation does not have what it takes to protect its domain from external and internal threats such a business will face a lot of challenges in the long run,’’ the cyber-security boss said.
He urged businesses to use a modern application known as AlgoSec Security to automate and orchestrate the process of managing complex network security.
According to Nwume, the AlgoSec application aligns with security networks to accelerate delivery, ensure security and continuous compliance across the enterprise.
He said that the application was the only way to manage security in the present-day business world.
A participant, Mr Sodiq Bello said that it was important for organisations to put up a security framework to protect their transactions from attackers.
Bello, who is an Information System Officer in Diamond Bank Plc, added that majority of business organisations were not being proactive enough to secure their online businesses.
He appealed to financial sector stakeholders to unite in fighting cybercrime in the society.
The workshop was organised to prevent cyber attacks through firewall breaches.
