RTC Unveils Courier Services Office

The Rivers Transport
Company (RTC) has expanded its operations by commissioning a brand new office for courier services.
The commissioning ceremony which took place at the premises of the company, recently, was part of activities to mark the 25th anniversary of RTC.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony/Thanksgiving service organised by the management of RTC, the Acting General Manager, Chief Peter Borlo, said the opening of the courier services section of the company was in line with the company’s objective of providing effective transport and logistics services.
The Acting General manager thanked God for making the company to clock 25 years as a limited liability company, despite various institutional challenges.
He thanked the staff of the company for their commitment to duty and assured that management would continue to actualise the mandate of the company by providing quality and effective transport service within and outside Rivers State.
Borlo said among all the State-owned Transport Companies, RTC was the only one that had remained in full operation, despite its myriads of challenges, noting that the company would not lose focus in delivering its mandate.
Borlo also decried the absence of proper transport policies in Nigeria, and called for the elimination of quackery in Transport and logistics operations, which he said had hampered the growth of the transport sector.
Highlight of the event was, the cutting of the anniversary cake, Special Thanksgiving Service, and presentation of awards to staff and agents of the company who had distinguished themselves in various categories.
