SUBEB Distributes Computers, Printers To LGAs
The Cross River State
Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has distributed 18 Desktop computers, Printers, Ups and Generators to local government Education Authorities across the 18 Local Government areas of the state.
Making the presentation during the meeting of Executive Secretaries in Calabar recently, the Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Stephen Odey said the gesture would enhance service delivery in Local Government Education Authorities (LGEA), across the State.
He expressed his gratitude to the Governor, Ben Ayade, for making funds available for SUBEB to access its pending marching grants from 2012-2015. ”Governor Ayade has approved 3.8 billion naira, to enable SUBEB access its marching grant account. There will be a lot of rehabilitation of schools, building of new class room blocks, supply of plastic furniture and magnetic boards to schools across the state,” he stated.
The SUBEB boss disclosed that, Governor Ayade had commissioned SUBEB to midwife the establishment of three world class model schools across the three senatorial districts. “These will be done in partnership with the Canadian International School and the schools will be fitted with state- of- the- art facilities,” he said.
Also speaking, the Director of Administration, SUBEB, Mr. Emmanuel Ojong, condemned the collection of illegal fees from retirees by some staff of LGEA and urged all Executive Secretaries to call their staff to order.
