South-South CAN Gets New Exco
The South-South
Christian Association of Nigeria, youth wing (YOWICAN) has inaugurated a 12-man executive committee with a charge to ensure an inclusive Christian out reach campaign across the region.
The new executive committee which has comrade Ekiye C. Ekiye from Rivers State as chairman, Yeren Igbodor, vice chairman, (Cross River) and Alvan Wanbia Secretary (Bayelsa State) among others were elected at the triennial delegates conference held at the Rivers State CAN Office in Port Harcourt.
Addressing the delegates drawn from Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River and Akwa-Ibom States, the chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Arch Bishop God-Dowell Oyibo Avowomakpa urged the delegates to ensure that the election was peaceful.
Represented by the Direction of National Issues and Social Welfare, South-South CAN, Vulnerable Augustine Okqua described the youth as the future lenders of the country and urged them to rebuild the association with a greater emphases on grass root Christian out reach.
He called on them to put all their trust in God on order to accomplish the mission for which the association was created.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Director for youth and women Affairs, S’south CAN who supervised the election, Apostle Nyeneime Andy described the election as peaceful, advised the executive to remain focused and resourceful.
