Buhari Returns Budget For The Third Time
President Muhammadu Buhari is said to have returned the 2016 appropriation bill to the National Assembly for the third consecutive time for further legislative work.
Buhari reportedly returned the budget to the national assembly after discovering some faults in the latest version.
Our correspondent reports that the re-worked budget was sent to the president at about 1: 15am yesterday but was returned to the National Assembly at about 12.00 noon yesterday.
It was also gathered that principal officers and members of the review committee from both legislative chambers met at about 3.20pm till about 5.30pm in the Senate wing to reconsider the observations made by the president on the budget.
There has been uproar in the country following the refusal of the president to sign the controversial budget.
Meanwhile, Senate leader, Ali Ndume had earlier disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari was expected to sign the 2016 budget by Friday.
Ndume said the grey areas causing the conflict between the National Assembly and the Presidency had been resolved, thereby necessitating the president to assent to the document.
