FG Approves Marine Police Division For Oyorokoto

The federal government has
approved the siting of a full-fledged division of the Nigerian Police Marine Division at Oyorokoto community in the Andoni Local Government Area.
Similarly, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has also been directed to visit the community with a view to distributing relief materials to its inhabitants.
The immediate past member of the National Assembly representing Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency, Hon Awajinombek Abiante who disclosed this during a solidarity visit by the Obolo Initiative for Change in Port Harcourt also said that two gun boats would be stationed in the area to check the activities of criminals.
Hon. Abiante also said that in line with the approval, Governor Nyesom Wike had approved necessary facilities for the take-off of the marine police division.
The former NASS member who is a candidate for the March 19 re-run election in the state also commended the Oyorokoto community for making available temporary structures for the take-off of the station.
He condemned the incessant cult-clashes in Andoni which had led to lots of innocent lives and urged the traditional institution and other opinion leaders to speak out against the problem.
Hon Abiante commended the Obolo Initiative for Change for its support to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and urged the group to mobilise the people of the federal constituency to vote enmesse for the PDP in nest Saturday re-run polls.
Earlier, the national coordinator of Obolo Initiative for Change, Mr. Emmanuel Alafunye said that the group had already begun the mobilisation of all its members for the March 19 re-run polls.
Mr. Alafunye commended Hon Abiante for his effective representation of the constituency within his short period as member of the House of Representatives and assured him of his return to the house come March 19, 2016.
