Guild Tasks Students On Good Conduct

The Diocesan Women
Guild of Anglican Church Northern Izon Diocese, Anglican Communion in Kolokuma-Opokuma local government area of Bayelsa State has advised female students in the state to take their studies seriously in order to compete favourably with the male counterparts.
The leader of the group, Mrs Ibiene Nyanabo gave this advice when she led other women of the diocese on a facility visit to the Girls Grammar School Kaiama in Kolokuma-Opukuma local government area of the state.
Mrs Nyanabo Ibiene, who is also the wife of the Diocesan Bishop, said the visit was part of the activities lined up by the women to celebrate this year’s Mother’s Day adding that the programme was part of the church corporate responsibility to the society.
The Bishop’s wife urged the female students to cultivate the habit of reading their books at all times, adding that in doing so, they would become better citizen in future.
According to her, “as future mothers it was important that they build their foundation very well in order to be able to face with the challenges of life”.
She took her exhortation from the book of Colossians 3:20: Children, Obey Your Parents in all things, for this is well pleasing in the Lord.”
Also speaking, the Vicar of St Mary Cathedral Church Kaiama, Rev John Markson lauded the women for the visit, adding that women play important role in the upbringing of children.
Rev Markson who teaches mathematics in the school appealed to the women to continuously pray for the school and the students.
Speaking on behalf of the students, the senior prefect of the school, Miss Ayibatari Toru Lilian thanked the women for their visit, adding that the visit would encourage them to do better as responsible students.
The climax of the visit was the donation of food stuffs as well as cash.
