The Tide Committed To Rivers Interest –Editor
The management of the
Rivers State newspaper Corporation (RSNC) has restated its determination towards fulfilling the mandate for which the organization was established.
The Group news editor Mr. Nelson Chukwudi stated this Monday when students of the Faith Tabernacle Comprehensive School Aba, in Abia State visited the corporation on excursion.
Chukwudi explained that The Tide which was established in 1971 to protect the interest of the government and people of the state had remained the foremost state owned newspaper in Nigeria, stressing that the mandate of the paper was paramount.
The Group News editor identified interest and hardwork as two important factors that could drive any practitioner aspiring to excel in the profession journalism.
He stated that experience had shown that those with the passion and strong dedication to duty had been outstanding in performance when compared with those who found their ways into the profession for sake of employment.
Chukwudi explained to the visiting students how news is being gathered and the various stages it passes.
The students were also taken to the librany, computer unit and the production unit where various machines and their uses were explained to them.
