Umuebulu Landlords Want Government Presence
Residents of Sunlight Estate Umuebulu 11 in the Etche local government area have called on the state government to extend its presence in the form of projects and amenities to the area.
The President of Sunlight Estate Landlords Association Prince Iyke Nwokeji, told The Tide in an exclusive interview in Port Harcourt, that the estate, which is populated with more than three thousand persons has no schools, health centres and other government amenities.
He said that the association through self effort provided a number of amenities for the people.
Some of these projects according to him, include, a network of 21 road, concrete poles and high tension wires worth N18 million, while security in the estate is being carried out by the landlords.
Prince Nwokeji also reiterated that the topography of the estate has exposed it to incessant flooding and erosion, noting that business activities in the area could have thrived better than what it is at the moment if there were government presence.
He, therefore, used the occasion to call on both the state government and the Etche local government council to extend its developmental activities to the area.
The association, who commended the state Government for its massive road construction activities across the state stressed the need for the gesture to be extended to the estate.
He also pledged the loyalty of the landlords to the government.
