Total Holds Supply Chain Vendors Forum
The annual Contracts and Procurement Vendors Forum of TEPNG was recently held in the company under the theme: Enhancing Visibility, Integration and Process Across Supply Chain.
Declaring the forum open, Engineer Adebisi Otukoya, EGM, technical services, TEPNG, pledged the commitment of the company towards corporate social responsibility.
He said the company was committed to carrying stakeholders and shareholders along and this can be best achieved through a clear understanding of the dynamics in diversity and culture as yardsticks of decision making for sustainable development.
Cyprian Ojum, procurement manager of TEPNG harped on the need for improved value of purchase order, especially in delivering both for local and imported materials.
He said the new vision was to expand the supply base of the company and check certain anomalies such as the influx of vendors and inaccuracy in vendor correspondence.
Meanwhile, the National President and Chairman, Council of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply Management of Nigeria (CIPSMN), Alhaji M.J. Aliyu had inaugurated the TEPNG district of the institute.
Inaugurating the institute in Port Harcourt, the president said the supply chain management was a profession backed by law and should be practiced by “only those trained in the art and science of managing contracts, materials supplies, and consultancy services.”
Alhaji Aliyu commended the Chairman, Rivers/ Bayelsa State Chapter of CIPSMN, Biebele Arimie, and Coordinator of the TEPNG district of the institute, Cyprain Ojum for their contributions, and tasked them on strict adherence to best procurement practices.
Engr. Olubunmi Obembe, EGM, Gas business of TEPNG, who is also a fellow of the institute, commended the purchasing and contracts team members of TEPNG for their strong drive for professionalism, and thanked the national president for the inauguration. The occasion attracted CIPSMN members from NLNG, NAOC and Rivers/Bayelsa branch of the institute.
