NCSU Attributes Wike’s Victory To God’s Intervention
The leadership of the Ni
geria Civil Service Union (NCSU) in Rivers State, has attributed Governor Nyesom Wike’s victory at the Supreme Court on Wednesday to the intervention of God.
The union, w hich dropped the hint in a statement issued in Port Harcourt and signed by its State Chairman, Comrade O. T. Lilly-West and Secretary, Comrade Dan Otakpo indicated that the governor’s victory was an eloquent testimony that his victory at the polls was destined by God, a fact which it said had been confirmed and affirmed by the Supreme Court.
It noted with delight that civil servants in the state had without ceasing been interceding to God over the matter, particularly when it was a subject of litigation at both the Election Petition Tribunal, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
The union further indicated that the victory would further motivate the governor to do more for civil servants, and commended his administration for regularly paying workers’ salaries including pensions.
According to the statement, civil servants in the state are overwhelmed with joy over the governor’s victory at the Supreme Court.
NCSU, therefore, prayed God to continue to grant Governor Wike the uncommon wisdom to continue to pilot the affairs of the state, stressing that for the period that the governor has been in the saddle, his administration has provided the dividends of democracy to Rivers people and residents of the state in a way that has confounded even his most ardent critics.
While urging the governor to sustain the tempo of his administration’s good works, the union assured him of the continued support of civil servants in the state.
