Clerics Reaffirm Commitment To Serve God
The clergy and laity of the
Diocese of Niger Delta North (DNDN), Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), have reaffirmed their commitment to the work of God and growth of the Church.
In a Diocesan rededication service held at the Cathedral Church of Saint Paul, Diobu, Port Harcourt, the faithful of the diocese reaffirmed their belief in the Lordship of Jesus Christ and pledged to endeavour to work ceaselessly for the unity of the Church in the diocese by complying with the diocesan rules and regulations as well as the Constitution of the diocese.
In a sermon, a guest preacher and Bishop, Diocese of Awka, Rt. Rev. Alex Ibezim prophesied that God would do a new thing in the diocese and the nation and urged the people to shun sin in order to enjoy the blessing of God.
Rt. Rev. Ibezim who took his theme from Isaiah 43:18 and 19 opined that to be totally restored by God one has to be prayerful, full of the Holy Spirit, receive favour and must be holy.
He noted that the rededication service was a service of love, unity and reconciliation and called upon all the arms and units of the church to be united and obedient to constituted authorities.
Highlights of the rededication service was prayer for the nation and all arms and units of the Church and a presentation by a delegation by the Anglican Church in Ghana to Most Rev. Dr. I.C.O. Kattey for his exploits in missions in Ghana.
Meanwhile the 2016 Port Harcourt City wide Mega-crusade has taken off at the Liberation Stadium, Elekahia Port Harcourt.
