Ogbakor Ozuzu Harps On Peaceful Dev
The President General of
Ogbakor Ozuzu, Barr Felix Ordu, has promised to reposition the apex socio-cultural body by and also work in synergy with the elities and stakeholders for rapid development of the area.
Ordu stated this shortly after his swearing-in ceremony as the new president of the association held at Ozuzu Central Play ground-Ojia.
The president who commended the people for the confidence reposed in him, said the main thrust of his leadership would be to make Ozuzu an envy to other parts of Etche by pursuing the aims and objectives of the body with vigour.
He said that Obiri Ozuzu, Resort Centre, Police Post, Revenue generation, education and skills Acquisition of youths would be given accelerated attention while efforts would be made to attract government presence.
Promising to adopt an open door policy, the president General pleaded for the support and cooperation of the people to achieve set goals.
In similar venin, the youth body equally elected its own executive arm with Mr Kingdom Aforole as its president.
In his own remarks the youth president, Mr Kingdom Aforole emphasised on the importance of peace and charged youths of Ozuzu to be actively involved in issues concerning peace and to also shun activities that could be inimical to peace in the area.
Also speaking, the Ochimba I of Ozuzu and the patron of the body, Eze Sylvanus Amaefule said Ozuzu is a peaceful community noting that its natural endowment ought to be compensated by the government.
He stressed that he was happy and proud of his people at all times, saying that the even be celebrated annually because of its historical importance.
Chairman of the occasion, Mr Godspower Amadi said that Ozuzu was a fast-developing town in Etche with so many graduates but lacking assistance and support from the government.
He called for government assistance in this areas road construction, Electricity, modern markets, health centres amongst others.
He regretted that growing insecurity challenge in the area was frustrating socio-economic development in Etche and called on relevant authorities to address the problem.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
