Agency Lists Challenges To Scrap-To-Wealth Initiative
Lack of self-loaders, tow-
vans, Hilux vans and other working materials have been listed among the challenges militating against the smooth take-off of the scrap-to-wealth project in the state.
The chairman, Scrap-to-Wealth Programme of the Rivers Waste Management Authority (RIWAMA), Mr. King C. Didia, revealed this in an interview with newsmen Friday in Port Harcourt.
He said if the tools and other equipment are provided, the programme would be a viable venture.
According to him, dumps for the scrap metals was another challenge facing the unit and that plans are underway to contact the government on release of some dumps.
Didia, noted that the Agency would ensure that all scraps would be judiciously collected and placed at the appropriate site.
