Group Tasks FG On Special Court For Terrorists
A group of Concerned Ni
gerians under the auspices of the National Neighbourhood Watch Project Group have called for the creation of a special court for the trial of suspected terrorists in the country.
National Coordinator of the group, Mr. Charels Inko-Tariah who said this at a press conference in Port Harcourt, also called for the review and amendment of the anti-terrorism Act to accommodate death sentence for perpetrators and their sponsors.
According to him, the proposal will also help to decongest military and Police detention facilities to forestall possible jail break.
The group also expressed its readiness to support the Federal Government in the drive to mop up looted funds from the previous administration to fund more people-oriented projects and programems for the benefit of all.
“We are highly convinced with the policies and programmes of the present administration. We support this administration’s drive to mop up all the stolen funds”.
It also congratulated the President for the removal of subsidy which has resulted in reduction in fuel pump price and the Nigerian military for their gallant effort in tackling the Boko Haram menace in the North East.
