NUJ Boss Tasks Radio Rivers Staff On Teamwork

Broadcasting Corporation (RSBC) have been reminded of the need to work as a team to achieve set objectives.
The charge was handed down by the chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mr. Omoni Ayo Tamunoi in an address on the occasion of the send forth ceremony of retired members of NUJ, Radio Rivers Chapel in Port Harcourt.
The NUJ chairman further advised them to work in unity, while kicking against any form of fraction in the corporation.
He therefore urged them to work diligently in order to maintain the standard of the corporation.
He also implored them to maintain the laudable foot-print and commendable conduct of their predecessors.
Speaking, the General Manager of RSBC, Mr. Samson Fiberesima urged the retired members to always keep their doors open whenever they come for assistance.
The RSBC boss assured them that the staff of Radio Rivers would continue to maintain the legacies left behind by their predecessors.
He described the retirees as people of integrity and honour who rendered selfless services to the corporation.
Also speaking, the chairman of Radio Rivers Chapel of the NUJ, Ibim Walson Asako said their legacies would remain indelible in the corporation and in their hearts forever.
“It is pertinent to state that our retired directors and colleagues were beloved persons for every one of us, as they gave their nice moments to us during their service in this organsiation.”
“They all proved their mettles in the journalism profession and impacted on their subordinates sound editorial judgment and ethical principles for which is evident in the products found in the department,” he stated.
Responding, Mrs Dame Lizzy Fombo, who retired as the Director News/Current Affairs thanked the corporation for keeping the flag of Radio Rivers flying.
Dame also commended the General Manager for the level of development in Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation
She further assured them that whenever invited, they would be readily available.
