Cricket Association Postpones Tournament
The final of the Na
tional Senior Open Cricket championship scheduled to hold last week has been shifted to early next year.
Head coach of the Rivers State Cricket Association, Tonye Timinadi disclosed this yesterday in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the competition was shifted to next year by the Cricket Federation due to lack of funds to organize the tournament.
He explained that the female played the competition early November this year, while that of the males is yet to commence.
“I think both the females final and the senior Male National Open Cricket championship will hold early next year”, coach Timinadi said.
It would be recalled that the male category was supposed to kick-off immediately after the females competition, held in Edo state.

Meanwhile, the female final would be played in Edo State, while, the male would play their preliminaries in Edo State, next year.
