Commission Restates Commitment To Improve Service Delivery
The new leadership of the Rivers State Local Government Service Commission, has reiterated its commitment for improved service delivery though regular training and retraining of staff.
The Executive Chairman of the Commission, Chief Azubuike Nmerukini said this in Port Harcourt, while declaring open a two day capacity building seminar for intermediate and Senior Staff of the 23 local government councils. The seminar was jointly organised by the commission and sustainable leadership Initiative (SLI).
Nmerukini who was represented by a Commissioner Inchage of training, Hon. Prince Obiandu Ohochukwu said that the Commission is committed towards service delivery.
He, however, charged the participants to see the training as an opportunity to reposition themselves for the challenges ahead, saying that the commission expects them to put in their best at the end of the exercise.
“Leadership is in your homes, in your offices, every where there is leadership. So whatever you are thought here today take it seriously, so that you will be responsible citizens in your offices, in your family as well as village meetings”, he said.
The Commission Chairman also expressed optimism at the ability of resource persons to give their best with a view to justifying the huge investment made towards the seminar.
Earlier, the Principal Consultant, Sustainable Leadership Initiative (SLI), Sir Chikezie Obi said that, the current global economic reality has made optimum performance and utilization of resources a must for all those who want to live up to their biddings in both the private and public sectors of the economy.
Sir Obi expressed optimism in the ability of the workshop to equip the participants with the right tool and resources to excel in their chosen career.
