More than 12 staff of the
Nigerian Expert Promotion Council (NEPC) are to receive training on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in Abuja as a capacity building programme of the council.
According to a statement made available to The Tide in Port Harcourt, Friday, from the zonal office of the council, the staff are drawn from its head office and the various zones.
Declaring the programme open, the Executive Director / CEO, Mr Olusegun Awolowo, who was represented by the Director Multilateral and Bi-lateral Relationships (M & BR), Mr Sidi-Aliyu Abdullahi, advised participants to be ready to apply the knowledge gained from the exercise.
He said that was the only way to justify the investment in training apart from the personal self-advancement the training offers.
According to the NEPC boss, management would continue to invest in training and retraining of staff, especially on modern communication and management technologies as a way of updating skills and enhancing joy performance in the council.
This is not the first time that the council would engage staff in training of this nature, as it could be recalled that the CEO hitherto to at the Strategie Management Retreat for staff in Asaba, Delta State recently stressed on its importance and therefore a key focus and policy of the present management.
The two-week training centred on application of Prezi and Power Point Platforms and will expand staff understanding, appreciation and development of professional presentation skills including preparation of dashboards for the CEO, Heads of Departments or even self use.
