Shipyard Location: 5,000 N’Delta Youth To Protest Against NLNG

Company Secretary, Stanbic IBTC, Mr Chidi Okezie, Chairman, Mr Atedo Peterside, the Chief Executive, Sola David-Borha and Non-Executive Director, Mr Dominic Bruynseels, at the extraordinary general meeting of the bank in Abuja, on Thursday
The Orashi Coalition, a socio-cultural organization in Rivers State has joined other groups in condemning the alleged plan by authorities of the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Bonny to relocate a multimillion dollar Dry Dock Project to Badagry in Lagos State
Chairman of the group, Napoleon Adah told newsmen Saturday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, that NLNG has ownership right in the new company building the project, as against the defence of NLNG spokesman, Dr Kudo Eresia-Eke.
He alleged that NLNG led its partners to several places within the state, including Orashi areas, to conduct tests for raw materials for the company.
Adah said NLNG has no reason to deny the state its right of playing host to the multi-billion naira project and insisted that youths of the region would mobilized to state protest in Port Harcourt ad Bonny if the company insists on moving the project out of the state.
Several other groups have equally vowed to sustain their protest until NLNG retraces its step.
Briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt, spokesman of leader of the Niger Delta Youth groups, Barr Simon Wilcox, warned that failure to heed the voice of reason by making public statement on the issue, over 5,000 youths would be mobilized to protest against the company.
However, Eresia-Eke announced Thursday that NLNG has little or no state in the planned project as it is not owned by NLNG gas firm.
The NLNG spokesman explained that a consortium of other Nigeria companies, Badagry Ship Repair and Maritime Engineering Company owns the project.
The youths appear not to be satisfied with the explanation by NLNG as they still insisted that both Port Harcourt and Bonny would witness huge protests against what it terms the antics of NNG
