PHCCIMA Visits China Next Month
The Chinese
Government has invited the Port Harcourt Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) for talks in China in a bid to open more frontiers as well as creating needed synergy for mutual benefit.
PHCCIMA President, Emeka Unachulawu, who disclosed this at the general meeting of June 2015 said the meeting would hold next month.
“The invitation is slated for September. This is the first time any chamber is given this honour in Nigeria,” he said.
He said the invitation was in recognition of PHCCIMA’s contribution to the Chinese economy, disclosing further that the chamber had on ad-hoc basis been going to some cities in China on business mission.
Noting that the former visits were not like a concise delegation but rather like visit of every other businessman, stressing that, however, this time around, they would go as delegation and investors.
On the benefit the Chamber and Nigeria would derive from the visit, the PHCCIMA boss said, “if you go on an exhibition on your own, you may have credibility problem, even when signed a company that you can partner with, but when you come as a business delegation, the hosts will see and believe that these are refined business people who they can trust and deal with.”
