Be Diligent, NIS Comptroller Charges Newly Promoted Officers
The Comptroller, Nigeria
Immigration Service (NIS), Oyo State Command, Mr Innocent Akatu, has charged newly promoted officers in the command to uphold diligence and dedication in carrying out their duties.
Akatu gave the charge while decorating 39 newly promoted officers of the service in Ibadan on Thursday.
“The only way you can defend the new ranks you now have is to show the Service how committed you are through diligence, discipline and hard work.
“Your new offices come with greater responsibilities; you should be poised to attend to it promptly, this will make you worthy of the positions you now occupy,” he said.
Akatu called on the officers to be ready to be deployed anywhere within their area of jurisdiction.
According to him, the service will not entertain any form of frivolous complaint in the dispensation of their duties.
He said that out of the 1,482 officers that were promoted in the Service, Oyo State had 39 officers.
The Comptroller advised those that were not promoted not be discouraged but to work harder for the next promotion.
Mrs Gbadesuara Toyin, one of the newly promoted officers, told newsmen that said she was grateful to God and would continue to serve with commitment.
“God is faithful, He has done this for me and my other colleagues; all I ask is for the grace to do better in my new office,” she said.
