Lack Of Mentorship, Bane Of Businesses – Expert
A business strategists
and mentor from the Million Dollar Business club, Mr Ugochukwu Omeogu, has blamed business operations failures in the country on lack of mentorship scheme.
Ugochukwu, who is also the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) Joseph Consulting and Mentoring Ltd, Career and Management consulting company, made this known during the wealth creation / mentorship programme in Port Harcourt last Sunday, said every business man or woman needs a business mentor to succeed and stabilise.
He noted that lack of wealth creation in business is rooted in the fact that the owners hardly have a good knowledge of the business they want to go into before venturing into such.
According to him, only few business operators can provide a blue print and plan of the businesses, adding that it is the duty of a business mentor to ensure that a business has “a blue print, plan and target before starting.
He noted that one does not create wealth by physical effort and labour but by creating a system that will work, saying that “the growth and success of your business depends on your ability to implement the instructions of your mentor.
Ugochukwu expressed concern on what he called the prevailing scheme in the country which he said is “god fatherism and business consultancy” which he alleged does not bring about growth in businesses.
He noted, “god fathers use your shoulder to climb while you use the shoulders of your business mentor to climb, adding that “business consultants can only advise you but your mentor will instruct you”.
Also speaking, Mr David Imonitie, the president of Ogano Gold Company urged business operators to acquire the right mentality and information concerning business growth and wealth creation. Imonitie noted that with the right mentality, a business man would be able to make moves for business growth.
One of the participants at the programme, Miss Helem Ibanu, noted that the programme was so encompassing, adding that she wished she got the information before now.
Ibanu stressed that every business man or woman needs a mentor to become what they dreams about, adding that in the next six months, the result of what she has learnt would show in her business.
