Andoni CTC Boss Tasks New Appointees On Service
The Chairman, Caretaker
Committee of Andoni Local Government Area, Hon. Esuku M. Esuku, has tasked the new appointees of the council to see their appointments as a call to serve the people.
In a press statement made available to The Tide in Port Harcourt, Esuku said the appointees should embrace up for the change.
Esuku said that the council would continue to initiate programmes that would improve the living condition of the people, adding that the appointments were part of the effort by the caretaker committee to reposition the council for greater service to the people.
He also promised to tackle insecurity in the area and solicited for the people’s support achieve the objective.
The new appointees numbering 50 include 10 special assistants to the chairman among whom are Jackson Iragunima, special assistant on political matters, Egbe Ebirien-Special Duties, ThankGod John-Transport, Cornilius .O. Cornilius-Revenue and Esau Ognemoreibot-Deep sea.
The rest are Prince Atasi Dike-Domestic Affairs-Hycinth Elebe-Protocol; Gogo Emmanuel-Students Affairs, Gogo Paul Reuben-Youth Affairs and Doreen Martins-Women Affairs.
Others who made the list of new appointees were Chief Gideon Elebe-Chief Security officer, Ebeto Jeremiah Security Adviser, Barrister Henry Awor-Legal Adviser, Ekeogak .R.Oke-Chief Protocol, while Solomon Parakom is Director of media.
Gospel Asuk was appointed the Director ICT I, John E. Ogwuokwa-Director ICT II, Hosea Hosea-Speical Assistant to Director of media, Waribo Manfred-Special Assistant to Director ICT I.
Also appointed were Munaria Wari-Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, Prince Kagong Uton-Senior Special Assistant on Inter Government Matters, Bishop McJob Mkpa-Senior Special Assistant on religious matters, while Felix Nkponkiweek is to serve as senior special assistant on Agriculture; Johnshaphate Isaiah-Senor Special Assistant on Environment, among other appointees.
Though the effective date of the new appointees was not stated, The Tide learnt that all those appointed have since commenced their jobs. According to sources, activities at the council have since assumed a new dimension with new appointee trying to show their best in service.

Motor Spare Parts, Industrial Generators Dealers’ Union Swears Gets New Chairman in Port Harcourt
The Owhonda Dickson Motor Spare Parts and Industrial Generators Dealers’ Union operating in Ikoku Port Harcourt, Rivers state has sworn in Mr. Cyril Igbokwe, popularly known as Onyeoma Cy, as its new Chairman.
The brief swearing _in ceremony was held at the union office in Port Harcourt, last Wednesday
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Igbokwe expressed gratitude for the trust and confidence his members had shown in him, despite his perceived educational background compared to others. , “I feel very happy to be the chairman of this great union in this great market. I’m proud of my executives for demonstrating commitment and cooperation.” Notably, the executives raised over ?1 million for the inauguration ceremony within an hour.
The new Chairman promised to tackle key challenges facing the union, including security and indiscipline. He vowed to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor, who he praised for excellent performance, and aimed to possibly do better.
Mr. Igbokwe emphasized maintaining a robust relationship with the host community and conducting his affairs within the ambit of the law.
In his remarks,the Electoral Committee Chairman’, Igwe Amobichukwu Eze Okorie, assured that the elections were conducted in a free, fair, and credible manner. Despite facing challenges such as non-compliance with guidelines and unfounded propaganda campaigns, no formal protest letters had been received.
Also speaking, the Women’s Leader, Lolo Nkechinyere Okolie, expressed faith in the new Chairman, citing his integrity and experience. She highlighted her role in ensuring women’s voices are counted in the union and vouched for the credibility of the election, noting that Mr. Igbokwe was the popular choice among members.
