Para-Soccer Activities To Commence Soon – Coach
The National Coach of the
Nigeria Para-Soccer Federation (NPSF), Femi Afolayan, has said that the federation’s activities would soon commence in full force.
Afolayan told newsmen in Lagos that sponsors were yet to respond to proposals forwarded to them by the NPSF, due to the just-concluded general elections.
“Now that elections are over, we will revisit some of the activities lined up in the first quarter that were not executed due to non-response from sponsors.
“The just-concluded election really disrupted a lot of things.
“We all know that people were skeptical about committing their resources which affected us.”
He said that in spite of the lull in the first quarter, athletes were still dedicated to training, stressing that they were still hopeful of events in the second quarter.
The coach declared that he was impressed with the attitude exhibited by athletes, which he described as remarkable, urging the athletes to sustain the enthusiasm.
“I believe these set of athletes are passionate about sustaining their form in the sport because every training programme they participated will add value to their ability.
“Training schedule also provides an enabling environment for them to socialise and interact with one another, we also use the forum to advise them on vital issues.”
Afolayan pleaded with sports enthusiasts to assist in the development of the sport and to impact the lives of the athletes positively.
