Cleric Decries Infidelity Among Couples
Married couples have been urged to eschew infidelity in order to attract God’s favour. Arch-Bishop of Calabar Diocese of the Methodist Church, Most Rev. Efion Ekpenyong gave this injunction Saturday at solemnisation of holy matrimony between Prof. Olusegun Okumu and Miss Joi Nunieh at Banham Methodist Cathedral, Port Harcourt. In his homily Most Rev. Ekpenyong described marital infidelity as the bane of successful marriages. Speaking further at the event, attended by state Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru, wife of the state Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi, Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Sunday Ola Makinde among other dignitaries, the cleric advised couples to follow God’s blueprint in their dealings, saying “marriage is God’s design”. He asked spouses to make sacrifices aimed at fostering goodwill, trust and happiness in the home.
