Access Bank, GTBank Training Schools Get CIBN Approval
The training schools of
Access Bank Plc and Guaranty Trust Bank have received the approval of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) as accredited training service providers in the banking sector.
Presenting accreditation certificates to the banks, the president and chairman of council, CIBN, Mrs Debola Osibogun said the banks met the requirements for accreditation and were also in compliance with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s competency framework.
The CIBN President said that graduates from the academies would be granted exemptions in certain subjects adding that there is need for capacity building in banks.
She noted that the accreditation will open more rooms for intending members to come on boards and write the professional examination, adding that these are the first set of accreditation certificates to be presented to academies and training service providers in Nigeria.
The Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe, who was represented by the Executive Director, Commercial Banking, Roosevelt Ogbonna noted that the bank since the past years has had excellent long standing relationship with CIBN, adding that accreditation is going one step further.
Wigwe noted that the bank cannot stop building and investing in their workers as banking and service providers.
He expressed delight over the partnership with CIBN, adding that employees of the bank would continue to take advantage of the robust learning system and structures at the institute to enhance productivity.
