LMC Okays Akure Stadium
The League Management
Company of Nigeria (LMC), organisers of the league in the country, has approved the Ondo State Sports Stadium, Akure to host matches of the 2014 / 2015 soccer season.
The Stadium, which serves as the home ground of Sunshine Stars FC was cleared by the LMC through its official, Mike Okophime, who was in Akure as the inspection officer.
Okophime was conducted round the facilities at the stadium by the Chairman of the State Sports Council, Mr Mike Adeyeye and the Chairman of the State Football Association, who also doubles as a board member of the NFF, Chief Dele Ajayi.
The LMC official expressed satisfaction with the state-of-the-art facilities at the venue.
“What is on ground here in Akure is enough for anybody to give express approval for the stadium to be used for any sporting event.
“Not only football. The facilities on ground are in good shape to host major sporting events.”
“I must confess that the Ondo State Sports Stadium, the home ground of Sunshine Stars FC, is in a very perfect condition to host matches of the 2014 / 2015 league season,” he said.
Sunshine Stars would start its season, visiting Sharks FC in Port Harcourt tomorrow.
