Delta Commences Issuance Of Business Cards
The Delta State Gov
ernment has commenced the issuance of State Business Identification Card to entrepreneurs who register with it.
The State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr. Chris Ekiyor, disclosed this at the flag-off ceremony on the Enlistment and issuance of the card called Selta State Business Identification Cards, DELBI.
Ekiyor who stressed the need for proper administration because of the complex nation of modern business globally said operations relating to functions and services being carried out manually could cause time lag thereby reducing efficiency.
He said the Ministry is responsible for providing enabling environment that is necessary for the growth of all kinds of legitimate business transactions and that this idea informed the initiative.
According to him, “the process will result in proper policy formulation, planning, implementation, gathering, storage, and dissemination of commercial and industrial data”.
He listed the benefits of DELBI to include, guide to investors, marketers, suppliers, buyers as well as potential job seekers.
Ekiyor also emphasised that the initiative would enhance information gathering process necessary for concessionary intervention by the government, creditors and international development agencies.
