RSNC To Partner JCIN On Youth Empowerment
Authorities of the Rivers
State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC) have declared to partner with the Port Harcourt Metropolitan Chapter of Junior Chamber International Nigeria (JCIN) in the sustainability of its leadership and entrepreneurial programmes.
The General Manager of the Corporation, Mr. Celestine Ogolo stated this during a working visit of the chamber to the Corporation.
Ogolo said the corporation has the mandate to serve government and people in the state as well as corporate organizations and would collaborate with JCIN in actualizing its programmes for the good interest of the society.
Ogolo who was represented at the event by the Deputy Editor (Daily), Mr. Donald Mike-Jaja, promised to assit in publicizing activities of the Chamber, stressing that with the newly acquired set of printing machines and manpower, RSNC has the capacity to deliver standard services.
He also encouraged the Chamber to develop articles that could promote leadership and entrepreneurial development, saying that door of the corporation is open for the organization.
Earlier in her speech, the leader of the team and President of JCIN, Port Harcourt Metropolitan Chapter, Amb. Onyinyechukwu Mgbeledogu, had solicited for the corporation’s partnership for adequate media coverages of the Chamber’s programmes in the state and beyond.
JCIN, she said is an international NGO of young persons between 18-40 years with a global network involving over 100 countries of the world.
“We are interested in empowering young people in enterprenuer and leadership development.
Government alone, cannot do everything in the society, so we use our professional expertise to expose, train and empower other young people as a way of supporting them to escape the harsh job market”, she said.
She said the body had concluded plans to carry out a medical outreach at Bundu in Port Harcourt City Local Government on March 7, 2015 to provide free medical service to people of the area.
