Delta To Inaugurate Flyover Projects, March
The Delta Commissioner
for Works, Chief Funkekeme Solomon, has said that the two flyovers being constructed in the state would be completed and inaugurated in March.
Solomon, who made the statement on Friday, while inspecting some projects in Asaba, said the government was committed to the March date for the inauguration of the Asaba and Warri flyover projects.
He expressed satisfaction with the level of work at the flyover projects which he said was about 72 per cent completed.
He commended CCC Construction Company, one of the construction firms, handling the flyover project and urged its management to ensure that the project was delivered on schedule.
Solomon said the government had kept its promise with the people to embark on urban renewal projects.
He said that the construction of the flyovers would help to reduce traffic congestion in Asaba and Warri.
Reports said that the Commissioner also inspected the Okpanam dualisation/drainage project and Mariam Babangida Road project.
He criticised the slow pace of work at the two projects and urged the contractors, Tratix and ULO Construction Companies, to accelerate the pace of work.
The commissioner said the roads were of major concern to residents of the area as their businesses had been disrupted by the deplorable state of two roads.
The Project Manager of ULO, Mr. Awni Tabbaa, assured the Commissioner that the roads would be completed as scheduled.
