Traders Told To Vote For God-Fearing Leader
The governorship
candidate of the APC in Rivers State Dr Dakuku Peterside, last Friday urged traders at the Mile Three Market, Port Harcourt, to vote for God-fearing leaders.
Peterside made the call during his voters’ sensitisation visit to the traders, saying this was the only way to strengthen democracy.
He said it was wrong for voters to sell their voting right by collecting money to betray their conscience in the upcoming elections.
“We have to take a collective decision to vote for leaders that will not be our masters instead of serving us.
“Our collective decision to vote people into positions of trust must be based on the antecedents of the candidates no matter the party.”
Peterside said his performance as commissioner for works in the state and member of the House of Representatives had high rating in the court of public opinion.
He assured the traders that they would never regret voting for him as governor of Rivers.
“You can trust me, I am God-fearing, I have proved that I am a servant and with me, the future of your children will be secured.”
Peterside said he would assist the traders with soft loans and ensure that they benefitted from free health care policy of the state if elected.
The leader of the traders, Mr Alloy Egeonu, assured the APC candidate total support of the traders.
