Rain Disrupts Cricket League Match In PH
The week four match of the
ongoing Port Harcourt Cricket league season between Whales C.C. and Benvic C.C., both of Port Harcourt played at the University of Port Harcourt ground at the weekend was disrupted by rainfall.
Consequently, the Duckworth Lewis method of calculation in cricket was used to decide the match.
According to one of the organizers of the league, coach Tonye Timinadi, the method is usually used to calculate points in a cricket game when ever there is rain or severe sunshine capable of distrupting a match.
After the calculations, Whales C.C. beat Benvic by five wickets to record their fist point of the season.
The capitan of Whales C.C. Izulu George got four wickets and scored 19 runs to emerge the man of the match (MOM).
Meanwhile, the K-11 Cricket Club is warning up to encounter Whales Cricket Club this week four match of the 2014/2015 league games this weekend.
The league is scheduled to end in match, this year.
