Peterside To Set Up Trust Fund For Insecurity
The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Rivers State says, it will establish a security Trustfund to address the challenges of insecurity in the state, if voted into power.
The Governorship candidate of the Party, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside who disclosed this at the party’s rally in BonnyIsland at the weekend also pledged to create 10,000 jobs for youths in the area.
Peterside said that his Administration will liaise with the Federal Government to upgrade the oil and gas polytenic in Bonny and also ensure the commencement of train 7 NLNG in the area.
The governorship candidate also said that, the administration will work with various stakeholders to reactivate and accelerate the construction of the Bonny Ring Road, while the Kalaibiama water scheme will be reactivated.
Other programmes include; deep sea fishing and other economic activities, while attention will also focus on the construction of befitting jetties at Bonny Island and Bonny Waterside in Port Harcourt.
He warned the supporters at the rally to reject financial inducement by any party or individual, stressing that the All Progressive Congress is the only part that meant well for the people.
Peterside also urged the leadership of the party in the area to commence the-door-to campaign in the respective communities and also moblising the people for the on-going collection of the permanent voters’ cards.
Also speaking, the Director General of the Greater Together campaign organization, Chief Victor Tombari Giadom said that the people of Bonny and the entire Rivers State cannot afford to play with the foundation said by Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, stressing that to consolidate on that foundation means to vote for the APC in all the elections.
Giadom urged the party leadership to embark on the door-to-door campaign round the communities.
Meanwhile, the All Progressive congress (APC) has urged the people of Bonny to shun traitors in the forth-coming elections.
The state party Chairman Chief Davies Ibiamu Ikanya who said this during the party’s rally in Bonny also said that the Ibanis were decent people to be and cannot be induced with money.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
