MOUAU Graduates 2,900, Records 14 First Class

University of Agriculture Umudike ,Abia State, recorded 14 First Class Honours as the university churned out 2,900 graduates, last Saturday during the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 sessions.
A total of 517 had upper division, 857 graduated lower division while 872, and 445 graduated with third class and pass respectively.
Among the graduands were 195 Masters and Ph.D holders candidates.
Speaking at the colourful event, the Visitor to the university, President Goodluck Jonathan, noted that agriculture remained in the front burner of his administration’s transformation agenda for national development.
The President who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. MacDonald Nwaobiala, commended the management of MOUAU for living up to its constitutional responsibility of training students on commercial agriculture and the modern trends in the sector .
In his speech, the Vice Chancellor Professor Hilary Edeoga, noted with delight, the prevailing peace and cordial relationship existing between staff, management and students of the institution.
