Firm Applauds NPA On Professional Handling Of Sunk Tugboat
The management of Five Star Logistics Terminal, situated at the Tin Can Island Port, has commended the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for its swift and professional handling of a tugboat that sank in the port.
It said the situation was handled professionally and speedily,
Its Manager, Customer Care, Chuks Okereafor, said the ill-fated tugboat was removed without disruption to port operations.
The Five Star Logistics Terminal said its operations have not been disrupted after a tugboat belonging to Medlog Nigeria Limited sunk between its berths 9 and 10 operated by the terminal.
Okereafor said the tugbot sunk while piloting a barge loaded with containers.
The incident, he said, occurred on June 7, 2024 when a vessel. MSC RESILIENT III VOY ZA417A, was discharging at berth 9.
The management said after the incident, two Roro vessels, GLOVIS SUN VOY 240S01 and SILVERSOUL VOY 24SS06 discharged 4,370 vehicles and sailed as scheduled.
