NPFL : Hat-Trick Excites Rivers United Coach
The Captain of Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt Nyima Nwagua has expressed joy for scoring his first hat-trick in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in the match day 20 in 2023/2024 football season.
He stated the team have been struggling at home this season but with his hat- trick today it would boost the confidence of the players going for the continental game this weekend against Academial do Lobito of Angola.
Nwagua said this on Sunday in his post match interview with sports journalists shortly after they defeated Doma United 3-1 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
The Ogoni-born player dedicated his first NPFL hat-trick to his family and his team adding that the three points was very important to his club.
“Today is my first day scoring hat-trick for my team I am so happy and I gave God the glory.
“ I delicated the goals to my family and my team. We have continental game this weekend so scoring three goals in today’s encounter I think it would boost the confidence of my team.
“We have been struggling at home this season but this three goals would actually going to boost the morale of the team” Nwagua stated.
