PH Refinery To Complete Test Run In Jan – NNPC
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) will complete test run at the Port Harcourt Refinery this month.
This is a major step towards resuming operations five years after the plant was shut.
Speaking to Journalists, NNPC Spokeperson, Femi Soneye, said “testing will conclude shortly, ensuring the refinery’s efficient operation. That phase will be completed this month.
“The refinery, which is undergoing an upgrade, would begin by processing 60,000 barrels per day, with the NNPC expecting to operate at the full capacity of 210,000 barrels per day later this year”.
He recall that the Port Harcourt Refinery is among Nigerian state-owned refineries that have been mothballed for years, but which the government, in its bid to end the country’s reliance on imported refined products, is striving to revive.
