CSP Igoche Bags UK Varsity Award
St. Thomas-a-Becket University, Canterbury, has nominated the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Kwale Division Delta State, Nigeria, CSP Edwin Igoche, for a Professorial award on “Peace, Conflict, and International Jurisprudence”.
This was contained in a press release made available to the Tide in Port Harcourt.
According to the release, signed by Comrade Isaac Christian, the award is based on the security and policing prowess of CSP Igoche, which has brought Peace to Kwale and its environs.
It said a letter to this effect has been received by the Divisional Police Officer from the Senate of the University notifying him of the award.
“CSP Edwin, a peacemaker, has received Professorial appointment letter on 25th August, 2023 from the Senate and the Academic Council of St. Thomas-a-Becket University, Canterbury, England, United Kingdom”, the release stated.
It qouted Professor Chidi Ehiriodo, Presiding Chancellor, International Association of World Peace Advocate (AIT), as saying that the Award is based on his Security and Policing prowess which he has exemplified in his profession as a diligent and hardworking police officer.
Speaking with newsmen later on, Ehiriodo said he recommended the Divisional police officer for this prestigious Academic Award based on his track records in Peace Mission in Liberia and other countries.
According to him, The DPO has participated in several peace missions across Africa and bagged several awards.
He listed some of these awards to include: “United Nations Medal Certificate”; “Peace Operations Training Institute”; “International Humanitarian Law and The Law of Armed Conflict, Certificate, 2013”; “Human Right, Certificate, October 2013”; and “Human Rights and Peacekeeping, Certificate, 29th September 2013”.
Others include are: “Principles and Guidelines for United Nations Peacekeeping Operations, Certificate 17th October 2013”; “Peacekeeping and International Conflict Resolution Certificate, 30th September 2013”; “Commanding United Nations Peacekeeping Operations, Certificate, 2nd October 2013”; “Ethics in Peacekeeping, Human Rights, Certificate, 8th October 2013”; “Protections of Civilians, Certificate, 1st October 2013”; and “United Nations Police Restoring Civil Order Following Hostilities, Certificate, 7 October 2013”.
The rest are: “Disarmament Demobilization Reintegration (DDR): Principles of Intervention and Management in Peacekeeping Operations, Certificate, 9th October 2013”; “UNDSS Certificate of Achievement”; “Basic Security In The Field II (BSITF) Certificate, 6th September 2013”; “SMT Certificate, 13th September”.
It said the award will encourage him to do more.
