NYG 2023: Kaduna Set To Host U-15 Athletics Trials
Ahead of the 2023 National Youth Games scheduled for Asaba, Delta State, the Kaduna State Athletics Association (KAA) has called for entries for a one-day U-15 trial slated for Kaduna next Saturday.
According to Chairman KAA, Hon. Sani Shehu Abbas, invitations have been extended to state coaches, principals and gamemasters of secondary schools, state and local athletics clubs as well as sports academies to enter their athletes for track and field events.
The events to be completed for at the meet include 100m boys & girls, 200m boys & girls and 400m boys & girls, shot put, high jump and long Jump (all boys & girls). There is also room for special sports such as 100m, 200m and 400m all boys and girls for deaf athletes.
“Kaduna State Athletics Association (KAA) in conjunction with Ministry of Youth and Sport Development invites entries to a one-day U-15 Athletics Trials slated for 5th August, 2023 at Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS), Kaduna.
“This is to enable the state have good representation in the National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State. Participants are advised to come with their NIN (National Identity Number), birth certificate and two passports photographs.
“Only athletes that are 15 -years-old as at 31st December, 2023 are eligible for the trials. Entries to reach the secretariat on or before 3rd August, 2023, as no entries will be accepted at the venue of event,” the KAA boss said.
