Traditional Ruler Advises Citizens Against Violence
The Eze Ekpeyelogbo III, His Imperial Majesty, Eze Kelvin Anugwo, has admonished citizens of Ekpeye ethnic nationality to pursue a just cause that will bring development to the area.
Eze Anugwo said this during the presentation of the Regent of Igbu Olukwor Kingdom to Sir Frederick Uwame in his palace by the people of Orlukwor Kingdom of Ekpeye ethnic nationality.
He described Igbu Orlukwor as an integral part of Ekpeye ethnic nationality, adding that Igbu Orlukwor is one of the communities which made up the Ekpeye ethnic nationality, which makes them a member of the Ekpeye Supreme Council of traditional rulers.
The Ekpeye Monarch also advised the people of Igbu Olukwor to withdraw all pending cases with a view to being fully integrated into the ethnic nationality.
He used the medium to admonish citizens of Ekpeye to pursue just cause that will bring development and growth to Ekpeye Kingdom.
On his part, Regent of Igbu Orlukwor, Sir Frederick Uwame, said it was traditional for the people to drive and establish traditional institutions, saying that the people of Igbu Orlukwor have fulfilled traditions by officially introducing their Regent to the Ekpeye Traditional Ruling Council.
He said the move will further engender Igbu Orlukwor to have their King.
The Igbu Olukwor Regent also called on government to provide jobs for his people.
Also speaking, President, Igbu Orlukwor Community, Architect Chris Enwudor, described the event as significant.
He said the introduction by his people of their Regent to the Ekpeye apex traditional ruling council will initiate the process of getting a King, who will oversee the affairs of Igbu Orlukwor Kingdom in Ekpeye ethnic nationality.
It would be recalled that Igbu Orlukwor, which initiatially was part of Upata clan, has for long agitated for a separate clan with a king in Ekpeye ethnic nationality.
The event was graced by traditional rulers, and regents from different communities in Ekpeye kingdom,
Other dignitaries who also graced the occasion include, the Area Commander of Ahoada Area Police Command, the Divisional Police in charge of Ahoada Divisional Police Command, the Director of the Directorate of State Security Service (DSS), Ahoada Zonal Command, and the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), Rivers State, among others.
