Omudioga Clan Warns Against Impersonation Of Monarch
The Chairman, Omudioga Clan Council of Chiefs, Chief Godpower Igwe, has dismissed the claim by one Dr. Syder Nnodim, parading himself as the Nyenwe Ali Omudioga as false.
Chief Igwe, in a refutal made available to The Tide, yesterday, said the claim by Nnodim to be the new person occupying the sacred stool of Nyenwe Ali Omudioga is false and misleading and capable of causing crisis in the land.
The refutal reads: “Information reaching the Chairman, Clan Council of Chiefs to the effect that one Dr. Syder Nnodim has been going around impersonating the Nyenwe Ali Omudioga and claiming to be the person occupying that sacred stool is false and misleading capable of causing crisis in the land.
”The Council of Chiefs of Omudioga and the entire Clan are still mourning over the demise of our late Nyenwe Ali, His Royal Highness Eze (Dr.) Godwin C. Onyeka.
“By virtue of the tradition of Omudioga people, the five year mourning period of the late Nyenwe Ali (HRH Eze Dr. G. C. Onyeka JP) is yet to be concluded and the necessary rituals and traditional practices to put our late Nyenwe Ali Omudioga to rest are yet to be performed.
“Consequently, there has been no attempt or moves by the Clan Council of Chiefs to replace the late Nyenwe Ali, HRH Eze (Dr.) G. C. Onyeka (JP) and the report of Dr. Nnodim impersonating him as the successor of our late Nyenwe Ali is not only offensive but considered an abomination that is sacrilegious to the customs and traditions of Omudioga.
“Thus, the Council of Chiefs directly warns the said Dr. Syder Nnodim to further desist from impersonating the position of Nyenwe Ali and also warn all the Chiefs and members of the Omudioga Clan to avoid aiding and abbeting the actions of the said Syder Nnodim and any other person whatsoever who has not been installed as Nyenwe Ali Omudioga by the Omudioga Clan Council of Chiefs presided over by the Chairman, Chief Godpower Igwe”.
