LG Boss Assigns Portfolios To Supervisory Councillors
The Chairman of Degema Local Government Council, Hon. Michael John Williams, has assigned portfolios to newly sworn-in Supervisory Councillors of the local government area.
This followed their successful screening and confirmation by the Degema Legislative Assembly, and subsequent swearing-in ceremony, performed by the Legal Adviser to the Chairman, Clement Braide.
Speaking during the brief ceremony at the Council Secretariat, the Council Chairman, while congratulating the new Supervisors, charged them to be committed and diligent in the discharge of their duties.
He also commended members of the Degema Legislative Assembly for screening the nominees, forwarded to them by the Executive, which underscores the existing cordiality and collaboration between both arms of government.
Speaking on behalf of the Supervisory Councillors, Ibiso Pokima, while thanking the council chairman for giving them the opportunity to serve once again in his cabinet as either a returning or newly appointed Supervisor, pledged to work diligently to justify the confidence reposed on them.
The Supervisors and their portfolios include are Ngoa Ekine, Supervisor for Works; Garrick, Ibima Firstbury, Supervisor for Education; Enenimibo-Ofori Tyger, Supervisor for Youth/Sports; Ibiso Pokima, Supervisor for Transportation; and Osaki Dabibi, Supervisor for Agriculture.
