RSU Commence Activities At New RSU Campuses
Rivers State University (RSU) Senate at its meeting held recently, deliberated on the commencement of academic activities at the new University campuses.
This was revealed during a press briefing held at the Vice Chancellor’s Conference Hall, recently in Port Harcourt.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Nlerum Okogbule, disclosed that Senate decided that academic activities in the new campuses shall commence with the year one students in the Faculty of Agriculture, Humanities, Social Sciences and Entrepreneurial Studies.
He directed that the head of campuses and staff posted to these campuses as well as the fresh students of year one to resume as earlier directed.
It is worthy to note that the new RSU Campuses are located in Etche, Emuohua, Ahoada and Kira (Saakpenwan).
In an interview with The Tide, the Vice Chancellor assured that security on these campuses were top- most in their agenda.
Okogbule called on host communities, students, heads of these campuses as well as staff to be their brothers’ keeper by reporting any suspicious movement around these campuses to the appropriate quarters.
He thanked the host communities as well as the Rivers State Government for support and cooperation given to the University that has translated to the expansion of the school to this enviable level.

Education Commissioner Seeks media collaboration in Rivers
The River State Commissioner for Education, Dr Peters Nwagor has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to deploy their various communication platforms toward promoting government programmes and policies aimed at achieving sustainable development in the education sector. Dr. Nwagor made the appeal when members of the Etche Ethnic Practicing Journalists (EEPJ) paid him a courtesy visit in Office in Port Harcourt.
