VC Advocates Team Work, Workers’ Motivation For Greater Productivity
Vice Chancellor, Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, Professor Nlerum Okogbule, has identified team work and workers’ motivation as panacea for achieving greater productivity in business.

The Vice Chancellor who was excited by the positive development in the school’s ICT, explained that huge success cannot be achieved in any business without hard work and motivation.
The university don who was represented by Professor Valentine Omubo Pepple, enjoined both academic and non academic staff to build on the successes recorded in the ICT sector and enhance productivity.
Other speakers including the Director of the ICTC in the institution, Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi; Chairman of the ICTC Development Committee, Professor Sodienye Abere, and the centre’s Deputy Director, Doctor Sunny Orike, said that the centre was poised to explore new ways that will reduce students registration stress and other related burdens.
According to them, the ICTC has not only enhanced teaching and learning process in the institution but has also placed the university as one of the best e-universities in the country.
The event featured presentation of scorecards by heads of the ICTC in the institution as well as goodwill messages from dignitaries.
There was also presentation of awards to deserving staff for their hard work, commitment and dedication.

Education Commissioner Seeks media collaboration in Rivers
The River State Commissioner for Education, Dr Peters Nwagor has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to deploy their various communication platforms toward promoting government programmes and policies aimed at achieving sustainable development in the education sector. Dr. Nwagor made the appeal when members of the Etche Ethnic Practicing Journalists (EEPJ) paid him a courtesy visit in Office in Port Harcourt. The Commissioner emphasized the strategic role of the media in shaping public perception, promoting government initiatives, and supporting policies capable of improving the quality of education and human capital development in the state.
