Monarch Tasks IoD, PHCCIMA, Govt On Partnership
The Eze Oha Evo III, King Leslie N Eke, has called on Institute of Directors (IoD), Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Mines, Industry and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) and the government to work together for their common good.
Eke said this when members of IoD paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Woji, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, recently.
He noted that such joint venture will not only enhance business growth, but will also address conflict of self interest in the business environment.
Another benefit of the synergy, he said, was elimination of corruption and promotion of corporate governance in business.
“We should remove politics from boardrooms. This will reduce conflict of self interest and corruption”, he said.
According to him, the coming together of the organisation will as well, serve as a social function in the society.
He called on the IoD to see the joint business as an easy venture given their business background and membership of PHCCIMA.
He also called on the institute to consider the need to engage government and other agencies in what he described as proactive relationship.
“There should be a meeting point between all business operators like PHCCIMA and your institute. It will enhance and better business development and regulate the economy “, he said.
Earlier, the Chairman, IoD Nigeria, Port Harcourt branch, Barzaage Adoage Norteh, informed that they were at the palace to intimate the Evo King on their Business luncheon forum 2022, with the theme, “Driving Sustainable Business In The South South South And Southeast Regions: Issues, Challenges And Solutions”.
