A renowned traditional ruler in Rivers State, Chief Nelson Ekwueme, has said that Governor Nyesom Wike’s unruffled posture and governance style in the face of provocation, has remained the pivot for rapid infrastructure development in the oil-rich state, and urged him not to relent.
Speaking with The Tide recently in Marihu-Ndoki, in Oyigbo Local Government Area of the state, Ekwueme stressed that the governor’s quality leadership has created unparalleled legacy in the state since 2015, noting that he was able to provide improved service delivery for sustainable development in the 23 local government areas in the state.
The ruler used the opportunity to eulogiseWike for his foresight in using his seven years in office to prove to the world that there was relative peace in the state contrary to the negative impression being created by failed opposition elements to disparage the PDP-led government.
He assured the governor of his subjects’ maximum cooperation and support to achieve set objectives, and wished the governor well in the herculean task of governing the state.
Meanwhile, Chief Nelson Ekwueme has assured of his domain’s 100percent support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2023 in the state, Sir Siminialayi Joseph Fubara, and other PDP candidates in the polls.
He maintained that his leadership in the area was able to mobilise and sensitise the electorate on the need to vote massively for Fubara and other candidates of the ruling PDP to enable the party reclaim and sustain its mandate in the state next year.
Ekwueme warned that any attempt to vote against PDP in 2023 would spell doom for the people in the next four years, describing the governorship candidate as a competent, dependable, accountable, visionary and generous leader, who was out to build better development bridges across the state.
He added that, “Oyigbo electorate are deeply ready for the polls, where he admonished them to obtain and secure their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) against desperate politicians who are poised to entice them with peanuts in order to disenfranchise them during the polls”.
